I like the shine, sparkles divine
An endlessness all set to survive
Catch my eye, catch my heart
I'll cash it in when time arrives
Bad poems, good jewellery
Winning combo, materially
I wait for them to judge, shame to usher me to shut
But I smile, knowing the colour, facet and cut
I wear them often
Or auction them up
It's world wide currency
All offered a cut
Now it's money for me and for you
Though future for me, past for you,
I dangle it whenever need be
Emeralds, shiny sapphires and rubies too
There's glamour here, glory too
There's an eternal edge to the sharpness I decide
With my lips ruby ready for you
With my arms open bracelet wide
You love giving it to me
I love its receiving
There's not much you can tempt me with, love
Unless it is gleaming
